Siempre estaré agradecida a Patxi Comas y Mikel Serrano por hacer realidad mi sueño de tener una casa en Donostia/San Sebastián. Patxi puede haber inventado muy bien el concepto de agente del comprador en la zona, y realmente fue más allá de lo esperado. Con experiencia en transacciones inmobiliarias en los EE. UU. pero sin familiaridad con el sistema en España, Patxi y Mikel proporcionaron información y apoyo en cada paso del camino. Nos conectaron a mi esposo y a mí con un prestamista bancario, un contador fiscal y abogados de bienes raíces e inmigración. Mientras estaba en Donostia la semana pasada para cerrar la propiedad, finalmente conocí a Patxi en persona. Contacted RESS for a purchase overseas in Spain. I was vague with the area I wanted to settle in but Maria and Patxi were up to the task. Maria went above and beyond my expectations. It was a difficult purchase by any standards and she and Patxi were consummate professionals. Being clueless as to the ever changing laws, they helped me and my husband every step of the way. I don’t think the sale would have gone through if it wasn’t for their due diligence and constantly thinking outside the box to make it happen. We wanted to lease an apartment in Donostia/San Sebastian, and realized that finding one and being able to rent it as foreigners with limited Spanish would be difficult. Maria at RESS did an outstanding job of helping us navigate that process. Aside from finding apartments to meet our requirements and negotiating with the owners and their real estate agents on our behalf, she facilitated related but equally important steps such as getting a bank account in Spain, providing contacts such as a handyman, and getting empadronamiento at the Udalinfo. We're convinced that working with RESS and Maria was the right step to take, and we're very appreciative of the thoughtfulness and hard work they displayed in shepherding us through the process. Buying a property in San Sebastian is very difficult due to the high demand and the low number of properties on the market. I was born in the area but have been leaving abroad for many years, which made it more difficult and the whole process seemed daunting. For starters, as a non resident I was finding it difficult to aproach a bank to ask for a mortgage. Maria made things easier from the beginning by putting me in contact with a Spanish bank to obtain a mortgage and help me determine what type of property and area would suit my budget. When we found the property the whole process was very quick, with Maria taking care of all the usual legalities, even the transfer of utilities when the purchase was completed.. I am really happy I used RESS and would not hesitate to use their services again.
